ANNOUNCEMENT: Joins forces with a industry legend - Cyan’s Myst!!!

Cyan—the developer of Myst, the best-selling video game of the 20th century—has signed a deal with Mighty Coconut to develop a 36-hole VR course Walkabout Mini Golf™: Myst to be released Q4 of 2022. The course will be available on Meta Quest, Steam, and forthcoming VR platforms and will feature immersive gameplay with realistic physics, and iconic settings, objects, and the spirit of puzzles from the Myst saga. Myst is a graphic adventure puzzle video game initially released for the Macintosh personal computer platform in 1993, now approaching its 30th anniversary.

“Our generations of players have discovered the starkly beautiful and now iconic Myst island, so it now only feels natural that we open this virtual mini golf attraction where fans can connect and explore,” said Hannah Gamiel, Development Director at Cyan. “People will be able to explore the world the Miller brothers, Robyn and Rand, created, and have friends from all over the world join them in the fun—all around the whimsical game of mini golf.” The Cyan team had been fans of the game before negotiations began.

The “Walkabout Mini Golf™: Myst” DLC will be vivid, challenging, puzzle-filled, and beautiful course for players where they can escape, explore, and play solo or rendezvous with up to four other players for 18 easy mode and 18 hard mode holes—complete with iconic Myst objects, settings, and puzzles. There will also be 18 lost balls to collect and a “fox hunt” scavenger expedition as well as a virtual, commemorative putter to collect.

“When we thought about iconic locations and compelling gameplay, Myst was right at the top of our list not only for it’s established sense of place but also its robust community of global players who we believe will embrace the chance to gather and putt their way through Myst island,” said Lucas Martell, executive producer and head of Mighty Coconut.
