Sunsetting Pocket Edition

Earlier this year, we announced that we would no longer be releasing new courses on Pocket Edition (iOS). Keeping a unique mobile version of the game updated alongside the VR version has slowed down production more than we had planned.

Unfortunately, complications have caught up with us and the time has come where we will have to remove crossplay functionality from Pocket Edition starting with the release of Blokhaven on May 7th. Alongside this, we will also stop selling Pocket Edition on the App Store altogether.

We’re sure you have a few questions about what this means, so we have answers to some of the bigger questions below:

If I have purchased Pocket Edition, will I still be able to play the game at all?
Yes, if you own Pocket Edition or any of the DLC courses, you will still keep those products and they will continue to work for the foreseeable future. They will just no longer receive updates.

Can I still play with other iOS players?
Yes, wireless/online play will continue to function for iOS users. You will only be able to play single player or with other iOS players going forward.

Will DLC courses still be able to be purchased?
Unfortunately, DLC will also be made unavailable for purchase when Pocket Edition is removed from sale. You would need to purchase any courses you would like to play in the future before the game is removed from the App Store.

We know that this disappointing news for our mobile users, but we continue to feel this change will enable us to keep Walkabout Mini Golf going for many more courses. We’re so grateful for the support from our Pocket Edition players since launch, and we wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you for supporting the game and Mighty Coconut as a whole.
