New Quick Match UI

After our short public test, we are ready to roll out our brand new Quick Match UI!

When selecting the Quick Match option, you will receive a total of 9 options in a 3x3 grid. The first column will include 3 base game options, the second column will include 3 DLC options, and the third column will include 3 specialty options, such as Race Mode, Closest Putt, and Mini/Giant Mode. These options can include the Easy and Hard mode versions of the courses, too!

This update also adds the ability to filter by language, and an indicator to show which courses already have someone waiting for someone to play with them. A "First Available" option will quickly get you in and putting, similar to the previous Quick Match functionality.

Additionally, you may find at the conclusion of a match that you'll now be asked about your experience with your Quick Match opponent. This is a product our new Ratings system, meant to be a very quick check-in to see if the players in your matches happened to behave exceptionally and thus deserve a special shoutout!

New Cosmetics

We're very excited to unveil two new cosmetic types for Walkabout Mini Golf!

Players can now choose from a few select golf ball trails that follows their ball when in motion as well as a few hole celebrations to show off your successful putts in style. To view these options, head over to the Welcome Island shack and take a look to the left of the golf ball tray. There will be a total of 3 ball trails and hole celebrations included in the base game to get you started!

From there, head on out to a course of your choosing and show off your skills in style! Regardless of the ball trail you select (or if you select one at all), the trails will appear more vibrant and distinguished than before. If you so choose, you can disable ball trails altogether in your settings.

Updated Avatar Packs

As a result of the new cosmetics we mentioned above, we are making some updates to our Fraggle Rock, Dark Crystal and Exploding Kittens Avatar Packs.

These packs will now include a unique ball trail and hole celebration that are themed around their respective properties. Anyone who owned an associated Avatar Pack (now called Cosmetic Pack) will have the new effects unlocked automatically.

If you already own the packs, then great news! You will get these new cosmetics free of charge. And if you haven't purchased them yet, these updated Cosmetic Packs are available now for $2.99!

Known Issues and Fixes

Known Issues

  • We're aware that Hole 13 on Passport: Tokyo Easy no longer guarantees a Hole-in-One when landing your ball into the donut just off of the stairs. We're looking into potential fixes in the future!

Fixes

  • We've made a number of improvements on the Friends system behind the scenes. If you happen to notice any quirks or issues, please feel free to report them so we can keep improving!

  • We've quickly repaired the room hosting bug that paused our Quick Match public test and have done some polishing to get it release ready.

  • We've also made a few adjustments to Passport: Hollywood thanks to your feedback!

    • We tweaked the greens ramps on hole 12 to reduce the likelihood of ball timeouts occurring; gameplay should be smoother here!

    • Very important: bananas are now properly ripe and yellow instead of that nasty, rotten black (aka we fixed the lighting issue).

    • Clue 1 of the Foxhunt now properly leaves a ghost clue where it was picked up.

  • Save data on the PSVR2 is now more robust with this update, with online and offline behavior now being properly saved to the correct profiles.

  • We've also restored the FormX Custom Grip Settings on Steam!

  • Speaking of grips, we fixed an issue where players could get locked out of their controls and gameplay when adjusting your grip settings. We've now got the guard rails in place to ensure you can smoothly customize your grip without losing control!
